Chem 131 Experiment : Soap Making (sopanification)

ثبت نشده
چکیده

In this experiment we prepare soap from animal fat (lard) or vegetable oil. Animal fats and vegetable oils are esters of carboxylic acids; they have a high molecular weight and contain the alcohol, glycerol. Chemically, these fats and oils are called triglycerides (See chapter 18 of your text). The principal acids in animal fats and vegetable oils can be prepared from the natural triglycerides by alkaline hydrolysis (saponification). You may also choose to add a scent to your soap by adding an essential oil. You can purchase the scent you want to add or isolate it from the natural source using a process of steam distillation (see ‘Natural Product Isolation’ procedure at the end of this lab) % ChemDraw NMR relaxation of the orientation of single segments in semiflexible dendrimers.

We study the orientational properties of labeled segments in semiflexible dendrimers making use of the viscoelastic approach of Dolgushev and Blumen [J. Chem. Phys. 131, 044905 (2009)]. We focus on the segmental orientational autocorrelation functions (ACFs), which are fundamental for the frequency-dependent spin-lattice relaxation times T1(ω). We show that semiflexibility leads to an increase ...

This document describes how the authors developed a SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)-based NETCONF (Network Configuration Protocol) client and server. It describes an alternative SOAP binding for NETCONF that does not interoperate with an RFC 4743 conformant implementation making use of cookies on top of the persistent transport connections of HTTP. When SOAP is used as a transport protocol...
